What do people enjoy wit or like witty people?

wit is based on perceptions, not misfortune. if someone uses wit in a manner that points out anothers misfortune you must decide for yourself if it is due to genuine cruelty of the person that is witty or based on pointing out something that we are all thinking is one of life's funny things. this would depend on exactly what the witty person is commenting on, as we all have our limits as to what is funny.
